Rage Against an AgeA Poem by Reclaimed.
I keep a secret destryoyer as a pet, as a confidant
He lives off of me; he consumes me and I like it Forces growth, forces regeneration I consider character development to be a private matter Secrets distill venom you know; disciplined destruction Chemical refinements temper ruin at first But something is never forever In time nothing is very much eventual I will die over him; he will die over me The body cannot live without the mind Eventually self envenomation becomes deadly Everything exists for a price; indeed those prices do vary Nothing is the only thing that's truly free; non negotiable Consuming and eroding the most precious parts Time turns everything to stone; Or if you prefer the fantasy - we are all pumpkins eventually The world was not better during your youth Youth is just always better; the venom had yet to be distilled Everyone keeps a secret destroyer as a pet, as a confidant Everyone tastes their own venom Everyone knows it gets bitter with age That in the end all the pumpkins will rot © 2016 ReclaimedReviews
