Pindar Weeps

Pindar Weeps

A Poem by Reclaimed
"

An ode without tragedy is pretty silly

"

Crimson stained; glory red the battlefield

Alluring; how today ignores the sting of tragedy

And clover; the color of what the blood once covered

Destroying; reductio ad absurdum unmeasured and repeated

Momentum gained; glory to the battle flag

Uniting; how it brings together "tragedy"

Over; and over; kick starts the war broken hearted

Every young man's war torn fantasy

Idiotic generic and promised survival through "tragedy"

Without lords, without captains

Without men and only boys

Without powerful enemies

Or the greatness of 'good loss', the burn of battle scorn

Today tragedy is without loss and without greatness

Without loss now we have no romance

Without romance there can be no tragedy

Now Pindar weeps.... and I play video games

To my hearts content

With no heart at all

A living tragedy

Where nothing is lost

No not nothing at all

Maybe Pindar laughs after all

At the living without heartbeats

I guess, this a tragedy to top them all?

No heart for the broken
