This is a Threat!A Poem by anonymously anishaI wrote this as a warning my English teacher to stop attempting to ascertain the identity of the "anonymous poet." :)Oh! The great pains to maintain my obscurity, Your curiosity for a name conveys great immaturity. So stop the inquiries, The interrogations, And the sneaky little glances From the corner of your eye. Anonymous is synonymous with mysterious, I’m serious! And that is why I choose to protect my identity And will reveal myself at a time more favorable, When the credit is more savorable (And though this isn’t a word I’m certain I’ve heard That poets can do whatever they please). So stop eyeing the basket, dear Mrs. Thornton Or your receipt of the poems will most certainly cease. © 2010 anonymously anisha |
