Afternoon Nap

Afternoon Nap

A Poem by anonymously anisha
"

I never wanted to forget this nap!

"
Through the blinds, stripes of sunlight laze on my bed.
Another Monday, gloriously designed for my enjoyment.
After a rich meal of pasta, I lay back, rest my head.
A thick Bronte novel becomes my sole employment.
I read until the pages and sunlight mingle in a haze.
My eyelids droop, my mind is carried off into a daze.
I am soon in another world--on a roller coaster in a dream.
It has been many days, weeks, months, since I've had sleep so serene.
Hours pass by, my body's warmed by the sun.
And I awake in a trance, piles of homework to be done.
Reality strikes.
But it was good nap.
