You're a monument in my memoryA Poem by anonymously anishaTo Stephen House
You're a monument in my memory;
perfected and idealized, crystallized, consecrated through years of stolen fantasies loosely--no, barely--based on reality. You're a monument that I hide behind; reflective, protective, over my eyes, you block my vision so that I am blind, it is you they see--you--a product of my lies. You're a monument that's so close to me; you dwell in my heart, live in my mind, I've waited for you, year after year after year But you're gone. Can monuments speak? If you can then please intimate to me when will I ever of you be free? © 2010 anonymously anisha |
