Why, Young Hippie?

Why, Young Hippie?

A Poem by anonymously anisha

Why, young hippie, do you straighten your hair?
Your makeup really clashes with your Seattle style flair.
Why, young hippie, do you assume people care
about the contradictory isms that all you hippie-types share.

Why, young hippie, do you shop at Hollister,
doesn't that clash with your anti-consumerism?

Why do you believe that people are animals,
doesn't that repudiate your all-important humanism?

Your veganism keeps you from eating the unfertilized eggs of chickens,
but your liberalism supports the killing of fertilized human ones.

Your environmentalism teaches you to respect plants and trees,
but your vulgarism prevents you from respecting people whom you deem sheep.

Why, young hippie, are you so angry at the world,
doesn't that contradict your obsession with pacifism?

Drugs and depravity,
sexual immorality,
"conformity" is calamity.

You, young hippie, make me weep.

Interesting. I liked it, but can't think of anything particular to say about it.
