Glasses Off

Glasses Off

A Poem by anonymously anisha

You don't have to close your eyes for inspiration
Just simply take your glasses off.
The world becomes blurry in a beautiful way,
softer, more gentle, up to your imagination.

You can walk through a crowd of faceless people,
or look at the sky through prickly evergreens.
You can stare into paintings, pools of blended color,
or gaze at faraway statues, shapeless figurines.

If you come out at night, look up ever so high
at the twinkling circles, with effervescent rings.
Look at streetlights and headlights,
blobbish bright patches, neon shoestrings.

The vivid clarity of your world has left you,
but for the first time you can finally see.
So take your glasses off, tuck them far away,
and be inspired by the world as you want it to be.

When my friend takes her glasses off, she gets a headache.

Okay, now I'm serious. This is very...trippy, I suppose is what you'd call it. But I also see the meaning in here. To feel the world, not just see it. Or to look at it through new eyes. Or I could be completely wrong either way.

In any case, good work.

This is cool. I hadn't thought of doing this before, but you're totally right. I think it's about time I take my glasses off for a while.
