A Bedtime Prayer

A Bedtime Prayer

A Poem by anonymously anisha
"

I just can't get any good sleep :(

"
Please let me dream of freedom
From the burdensome chains of this bed.
Oh, how my mind is an enemy
Stationed, a virus, at the back of my head.
When my eyes close with sleep
Please let me escape it--
While awake, hues of gray are okay,
But in dreams, just an ounce of pleasure permit?
Grant me grace.
I fall asleep groaning
And wake up always moaning
Not a good night's rest
But an extension of day.
Am I a slave to my work?
Grant nightly freedom, I pray.

Not much left for me to say, really. EByFE down there already said everything I can think of.

I really like this! I like the way your words are so simply but when they are put together they become beautiful and complex. I really like all of your poems :) Keep it up!
