A Bedtime PrayerA Poem by anonymously anishaI just can't get any good sleep :(
Please let me dream of freedom
From the burdensome chains of this bed. Oh, how my mind is an enemy Stationed, a virus, at the back of my head. When my eyes close with sleep Please let me escape it-- While awake, hues of gray are okay, But in dreams, just an ounce of pleasure permit? Grant me grace. I fall asleep groaning And wake up always moaning Not a good night's rest But an extension of day. Am I a slave to my work? Grant nightly freedom, I pray. © 2010 anonymously anishaReviews
