Transplant

Transplant

A Poem by Sylvia

A brain made from the resources available
Mud, rot, s**t blended together
Molded with careful, angry hands
So well it almost worked

Then surgery with a teaspoon
Methodical resection
Replaced with potpourri
To kill the lingering scent

But after the years-long procedure
The sweet brain stopped to think
Perhaps that earthy silt
Could have grown flowers

yes, we wonder what exactly is in there at times. Seems that we vary between thinking nothing and everything all at once.
and maybe the speaker thinks like Sylvia Plath....with such negativity...when there could have been flowers, she just ignored the blooms.

A perfect ending to the poem. We do add and add to our brain. Hard to say, if we are wiser. Thank you Sylvia for sharing the amazing poetry.
