Given Up

You decide...

It's not enough to be yourself
in a world so full of narcissism
It's not enough to trust ourselves,
In a world so full of anarchism
It's not enough to just love someone
they may not love you back
its not enough to bleed the same color,
we're separated; Muslim, white and black...
It's not enough to hope for change
or to be compassionate and humble,
if all we do is wish for better
we'll fall as the world begins to crumble
Poetry is art, art doesn't matter,
The poor are getting poorer,
while the fat cats getting fatter...
And though it's sad, there's nothing I can do
So I'm giving up, never trust the red, white and blue...
You know what I say is the truth,
but yet you turn away
So i vow never to speak
Because what else can I say?
I've given up on you....
