void of the necessary halo

void of the necessary halo

A Poem by freelancejouster

what a pleasure to make the acquaintance of someone
who i didn't think--realize?--was important until this minute.

you go along and talk to them
about odd things
and piss and moan about odder things still
and somehow end up getting hit in the face with a salmon
or some equally inedible, well-done, previously-living thing,
and you realize how f*****g important that someone is.

and then you stare at your feet like the idiot you are
for ever having a thought otherwise.

my god, child, you're something,
aren't you?

i liked ...and piss and moan about odder things still - this kind of poetry feels so real and a welcome change from the norm. enjoyed.

There are alot of great people who you never meet but look at and you know if you only had the time in your busy life to say hi then you would probably be engaged in stimulating conversation but you hurry past without saying a word because there is just too much that needs to be done to take interest in others.
That is how your poem has made me feel. This is odd in it's own right.Love your style
