A Poem by freelancejouster

she's got a slow mouth
and she acts as if she's dressed this way her entire life,
though the style just came around a year or two ago,
and her clothes are about that old.

she calls it organic,
though they're bleached
with more things
than flour and white bread--
which she doesn't anymore
because she's decided that she'll act like
she prefers the nutty taste of homemade brown.

moccasins and floral skirts.

fingers clicking the shutter
and writing novels
with the sweep of the camera,
one of seven, the only vintage,
arranged along shelves in her small pink room,
beneath native jewelry, feathers, and an old school map.
