behind battle field lines

behind battle field lines

A Poem by freelancejouster

machine gun rattle and
a row collapses under agitated friendly fire,
the green horn,
blinking back insanity lights
and crazed urges to peep and peer
at his peers when he's not gotten quite enough sleep
due to stutters of fake
lead being lit off by the far away
and most probably imaginary
'enemy'.

a nemesis by any other name
is really more of a nightmare
than you'd ever willingly admit to.
