in which we reconsider what we believe in

in which we reconsider what we believe in

A Poem by freelancejouster

"you've put a lot of faith in something imaginary."

and there was that overly-long pause,
that hung in the air,
refusing to dissipate
and probing gently for an answer.

i had a feeling he was remembering things
that one should not have to remember
but for fear of forgetting.

finally, his head tipped up
and he murmured softly,
his rough voice barely above a whisper,

show me someone who doesn't.
