the purple dress

the purple dress

A Poem by freelancejouster

her frost-bit smile

hides behind wind-chapped lips

under her cold-reddened nose.

all of it sitting precariously on her beautiful face.

too bright eyes shining

as she scurries along the street,

knowing exactly where to go.

though she's never been here before.

stumbling up the stairway

tucked down an alley

i follow, too scared of losing her

to wonder where i am,

where i'm going.

by the time i catch her,

there she is,

a vision in that purple dress.

actually, i find it really good... it reminds me of my own poetry, in a way.. it somewhat seems as if you are watching yourself... or your soul, in a way... as if you are watching from the window to our universe...if that makes any sense...
