the purple dressA Poem by freelancejouster
her frost-bit smile hides behind wind-chapped lips under her cold-reddened nose.
all of it sitting precariously on her beautiful face.
too bright eyes shining as she scurries along the street, knowing exactly where to go.
though she's never been here before.
stumbling up the stairway tucked down an alley i follow, too scared of losing her to wonder where i am, where i'm going.
by the time i catch her, there she is,
a vision in that purple dress.
