Until Then

Until Then

A Poem by Erin Phoenix
"

A man dreams of meeting his lover in heaven.

"

30 years, and times gone by

I wait until I too will fly

Over the clouds, and into the blue

When once again it is me, and you

Into a light that consumes me whole

Devouring my time, but never my soul

I'll wait by the gate with a smile for two

And a woman in white would let me through

Her name would be sweet, and a book she will hold

And millions of questions I have will unfold

I'll tell her your name, and so much more

She'll nod with a smile, and lead me to a door

The moment I reach to open the room

My nose will immediately breathe in your perfume

I’ll open the door, and there you will lie

In a bed of flowers with butterflies passing by

My eyes will light up, and my heart will race

As I join you in this wonderful place

But until then I guess I'll stay

And wait for that marvelous day

That I do glide in the sky

And pass the clouds up high

And see you my love

Way up above

:) Craziness

It just came from the top of my head.

Oddly enough I just jotted whatever I was thinking in less than five minuets.

I didn't think much of it but it turned out pretty good.

Surprisingly...

Wow, for jotting down this in five minutes it is super good. So beautiful too. Imagery, flow, pace just everything works so well in this piece. Even the format it is in caught my eye. You know, just how it goes from few words at the beginning, many in the middle, back to few again for the end, it just really worked like that.

I especially loved these two lines.

"I'll open the door, and there you will lie
In a bed of flowers with butterflies passing by"

Just an overall beautiful piece. Thank you for requesting me to read it.
