A Story by Erin Phoenix

This is not a story. It's a favor. :)

Hey I'm finally done editing my book and asking one last time for quotes!

If you gave me one already then thanks! I already put it in my book.

I'm in Colorado right now. So I'm planning on getting my book copy written when I come back home. That means no more last changes to my book. So if your very much interested, then leave me a quote.

I'm going to put this same bulletin on almost everyday until I leave. So don't get annoyed.

Okay heres the info

V

At each chapter I'm putting a quote. So if you want to help me accomplish this you could do so by making up your own quote about sanity or insanity. It would help a lot. Your quote will appear in my book with your first in last name.

Who can say that they ever had their own quote in a book with their exact first and last name in it?

Like this.

"____________________________________________"

-Your first and last name

Example:

"In a mad world, only the mad are sane.

-Akiro Kurosawa

Note: These are really going into my book so please be mature about this. and it needs to come from your head that means no stilling people. I will check if it is not yours or not and it will not be put in if it isnt yours.

I'm telling you its no joke if you know me you know I'm working on a book and that its coming along rather slowly but this will help me very much.

Some people sent me more than one, but I'm only using one.

Here are the quotes I got last time!

PREVIEW:

6,736,294,148 people are living in this world. Some are dealing with their fears. Some are pretending to be who their not. Some can’t finish what they started. Some are going through new things. Some have it all, but want more. And some like me are just asking why?

My name is-
“Isalene, group session. Everyone’s waiting for you in the lounge.” Merideth pops her head into my room.
I grabbed my notebook from on top of my bed.
She looked around my bedroom and then back at me. “ Ready then?”
I nodded and followed her down the hallway to the lounge where all of the group sessions are placed. Group session is a daily task that we could choose whether or not to attend. Mostly we attend so we could get Merideth out of our hair for the rest of the day. All we do is pull an item out of a box that’s placed under our chair before we enter the room. I have no idea where the items come from but they are all from our pasts. Merideth thinks that seeing these items will cure us in some superstitious way. I say superstitious because for the past five years that I’ve been here it rarely happens. Rarely meaning never. Merideth is the director and founder slash owner of the institute. Her sister was a bit over her head. Crazy, insane, devil tapped, mental; whatever they call it these days. Everytime I pop my head outside to the open world I hear a different word that they label us. They think we care what they say but what they don’t know is that what we think about them is not apart of our life.
Anna, Merideth’s sister was not crazy. She thought different than others and for her thoughts that she lived on like oxygen was put into an institute. Back then was different. Back then the crazed were treated like animals; like they didn’t belong on earth. They had no rights, they were basically treated like they were in prison waiting to be put to death. Merideth saw how brutal her sister was treated while visiting and didn’t like the sight of it. So a year later she found an abandoned apartment complex and turned into Backer Institute for Women. She took her sister in and seven years later Anna committed suicide in her bedroom by hanging herself with shoelace. I guess that’s why Merideth is so determined today to get all of us out of here. She thinks by helping us, she’s helping her sister as well.
I could still remember the way she looked at me when I was committed. She always said to us, 'The past is the past and I will only bring it back to save you.' I was nineteen. I still am nineteen plus five. I know it sounds confusing but I never grew up. The responsibility of growing up is too much for me to take. I know that this is said by every person that enters the door here but I am not crazy. I’m just content. Crazy is what my next door neighbor called me when she found me lying on my lawn in the rain. Crazy is what my teacher called me when I was at my desk talking in my sleep. Crazy is what my stepmother called me when I locked myself in my room for a year without speaking to anyone that had a breath. I don’t think all that would fit in the topic of 'Crazy'. Maybe me being in denial makes me crazy. Maybe me being childish and immature with my thoughts; makes me crazy. That’s what my stepmother said to me the day before she walked me into her car and said that we were going to visit my fathers grave. The day before my father’s grave turned out to be here. The day before she gave up on me when she broke her promise to my father on his death bed to never let me slip from beneath her. All I wanted was my father back and it hit me the day after his funeral; the day that I saw his cold, lifeless body in that long shiny box; that he wasn’t coming back. So I kept myself locked up away from everyone else that could get hurt or could get put into a shiny box as well. I’m crazy for protecting myself. I’m crazy for blocking everything that could possibly happen to the rest of everyone else that I care about from myself. I’m crazy. I am crazy. Isalene Haden Haywell is crazy. I could say it one hundred times more but in my head; in my soul; I am not.

"The word 'Insanity' has been trivialized so that the sane can bare to live side by side with the insane."
or
"Insanity has come to mean almost nothing in our society. Similar to what the insane have come to mean to us."

I hope that list was the complete list before plagiarized items were removed. I found quite a few plagiarized works!

"Insanity, people say, is an illness. Then, is not love too an illness. Love is an abnormality, abnormality is insanity, and insanity is an illness. We all are insane, because we love, because we care." ~ Hina Ali

"Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination." ~ Mark Twain

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing, over and over, and expecting different results." ~ Albert Einstein

Good luck with the book. We'll try not to be too jealous.

A quote from my own mind...hmmm let me think now.
Ok. got one!

"To remain sane, challange yourself with who you once were. Insanity comes about when you challenge yourself against others, failing to have found yourself first."

or this one...

"One cup of tea, a pinch of insanity and me is what you all really see."

I don't know what to say to you, I mean, there are so many things that I'd like to add for you. But, all I can give you one of my motto;

"Fear is only an illusion, but the pain is a reality"

I hope that'll help you out? If not, just yell at me, then

Anyway, I've always admire your writings, but this piece is far the most interesting writing I've ever come across and you've made several points. So, it's all good though...
