The Girl That Came To BeA Poem by free2bmePoem about the Justice System and Intimate Partner Violence. The Girl That Came To Be I watch her from a distance, Like a spectator looking in, Wondering what she will do, Will she ever know life again. She wonders why she survived, Do they really call this a win, When the system we call justice, Refused to let her entry in. She doesn't know where to turn, She doesn't know what to do, She doesn't recognize this lady, Who's been told to start anew. Tell her how to start over, When things involved from her past, Shook the ground she now stands on, Her own judgment she uses last. How is she supposed to move forward, When nothing on earth does she trust, Her beliefs of some forty odd years, Being crumbled to nothing but dust. She doesn’t know how it all ends, But she wants the world to see, Abuse and the justice system, Made this girl that came to be.
