Stones In The Ocean

Stones In The Ocean

A Poem by Nicole Danielle

They're just stones in the ocean,
petty imperfections that have no meaning at all.
And we can't lose our faith over heartache,
or lose our voices over time spent
screaming at walls,
when walls can't hear us,
walls can't listen.
After all, it's just a cloud on a canvas of beautiful blues,
and you're a lot stronger than the darkness
you let control you.
Because trees lose their leaves
but they still breathe in the sun,
and they don't let the rain drown them.
Even when it's pouring.
You can be a lot bigger than the world
on your shoulders,
and you can stand a lot taller
than those trying to push you down.
Because these things are just stones in the ocean,
AND THEY MEAN NOTHING AT ALL.

I like optimistic poems.. just my cup of tea.i like the way you've compared the petty things of life to stone. We can't laugh on the same joke twice then how can we let ourselves brood on the past.. :) nice write.
