American Tom

American Tom

A Poem by Whiles

When the towers fell

I counted american flags

on jeep liberties

and chevy trailblazers

for almost a year

today driving

on the parkway I glimpsed

a coast guard funeral

and felt

like a voyeur.

short but I think you got your point across real well. It saddens me to think of all the losses we have had in many wars. And when they come home its not always to a welcoming crowd. Anyway Whiles great write. Thanks for sharing and adding me to your buddy list.
