Mercenary

Mercenary

A Poem by Whiles

I am a cleaned cadaver.

They took my smile with you,

my clown,

my shiny teeth and luscious lips and

velvet throat are gone.

With you,

my sweetheart,

vanished my eyes

my sockets bare and empty.

And stolen my arms

and legs with you,

my child,

the masts of my body

nowhere to be found.

My sage, my wise man,

my heart disappeared with

you

And last my spine

you took it yourself,

my queen.
