Drive

Drive

A Poem by Whiles

You're wearing a white dress

and you won't look at me.

White is for virgins

and oysters

but you--You wear it like

the bravest queen.

I can't leave you alone

I can't sleep at night

I drive past ridges on

restless nights

listening to your mix tapes

which are the sad reason

I fell in love with you

in the first place.

I wish I could tell you

that I like that song

now that I know it's about

f*****g.

Now every love song I hear

on the radio

is about you.

I'm sorry it happened this way

And I'm sorry I can remember

in stabbing detail

the way your skin smells

where your collarbone meets

your shoulder.

Phew...let me catch my breathe. This is just great as is pretty much everything of yours that I've read. I too have fallen in love with gals via their mix-tapes...I know the deal.
