Author’s Note

                You may want to note a few things as you read, as I may or may not put them down elsewhere and you won’t get a few jokes or sayings if you don’t read them now. The world that this takes place in is a place very much like Earth, but it is important to note that IT IS NOT EARTH. If you are under the impression as you are reading my book that it is, than you will more than likely end up horribly confused (and I will laugh at you).

1)      The world that this story takes place in a world that is flat. Not round like ours.

2)      Their technology is far advanced then ours in some areas, and less in others. For example; they have yet to invent phones, instead they use “magic” to communicate with each other over long distances (I’ll explain later in the book).

3)      Ellis Island isn’t like the one that we all know of, I cannot tell you more about it now as it will revel part of the story, but remember that Ellis Island was just inspiration for the name of the island in my book

4)      In addition and correlation to my last note, any name that can be matched to one in the real world is either coincidence, or I just liked the name enough to bestow it upon an object that I couldn’t otherwise come up with a name for.
