This Evil Path

This Evil Path

A Poem by LaPluma

I listened to the sound of my own heartbreaking.

I hear the echo of a thousand tears falling from my face.

The memories of our lovemaking......

have disapeared with out a trace.

All I ever wanted was a tender word

that would tell me not to fear no more.

But it was a little bird

that sang a sad song from the shore.

Crashing are the waves of my grieving pain.

Churning over all the good.

I wouldn't change a thing, that's so insane....

Not one thing if I could.

Desolate and broken my ship has gone astray.

The compass needles broken,

My soul has lost its way.

The enemy has awoken.

So black this tempest path so dark,

yet striving through this sea of grief

my life it does embark

to find some piece of fresh relief.

Maybe, on an island with new life fruit to bear.

Even just a coast with life abundant.

Without your rules to adhere.

Just me so independent.

My journey has gone as far as the eye can see.

Do you feel me inside?

Am I who you wanted me to be?

Sorry, this young saylor died.

Now you so full of pigs and pride

will swallow fast my poisen

and follow you this ride,

this evil path you have chosen.
