Words are not a poem

Words are not a poem

A Poem by iliketowrite

My words find themselves to be undeserving,
unworthy of being read by your eyes.
I lack words,
the world’s knowledge would not be enough
to describe the depth of feeling
I feel for you.

But I promise you,
my love I promise you,
one day I shall write something
worthy of your eyes,
and when were old and sitting in our front porch
fifty, sixty years from now
and our grandchildren are running around
you will look at what we created,
look at me and realize
that words don’t mean anything,
you will look around and realize
that this our story,
our poem,
written together.
A dynasty, surviving
eternal time,
and I will die in peace,
knowing I finally wrote
something worthy of your eyes.

This is poetry. I like the honest and direct words. To desire and to write a real poem for another person create passion and desire in a writer. No weakness in this poem. The flow and the story was outstanding.
