Amrita

A Poem by Francois El Ausar

In this sacred union,
You wear a quality of heart
which under usual circumstances
would only bloom after waves of wise-grey
Have carefully rolled this scroll of youth
Into a seal melted and hardened
by the warmth of future light,
And a thousand conquered winters.

Ordinary could never be your climate,
In this lifetime or any other.
For we are both odd creatures
Singled out by love
and made to thirst eternally
while immersed in each other's mouths,

Taking and giving with finesse,
What the heart has wrapped in vocals.
Tainted memories are wet with content,
But the purest dry quickly,
And so I've learnt while traveling
through each answer you've
given to my innermost craving.
For the woman I love,
I always crave more.
Today, what kind of waterfall will
you pluck from your spiral-like crown?

I'm trembling with prophecy,
Your true height is golden liquid;
Is that why the stars are always
buzzing around your shoulders?

I'll guard your secret well,
So just drown me in adventure!
We worry little, isn't that our thing?

I would promise not sink,
But my feet are too decisive.
Ever clenching upward toward
A face I've yet to see. - Francois El Ausar
