Wish

Wish

A Poem by Francis Rosenfeld

If only I could see
the light surrounding me,
the essence of a tree,
the wisdom of the wind.

If only I could find
the thread that never binds,
the dream that never dies,
the whispers of the field.

If only I could sense
the love that never fades,
the hope that never rests,
the faith that never bends.

If only I could hold
the fire and the cold,
the keystone of the world
the tale that never ends.
