What ifA Poem by Francis RosenfeldPoetryIf you could have your cherished dreams and each desire were granted you what would you wish, what would you hope, what would you root for to come true? Would you be scared? Would you be weak? Would you be wavering in faith? Would you accuse? Would you demean? Would you be lingering in hate? Would you be sad? Would you give up? Would you accept "not good enough"? Would you dream small? Would you cast doubt? Would you mull over every scuff? Would you let others' thoughts decide what things are possible for you? Would you accept to be defined as a defective errant tool? Would bullying silence your beliefs? Would you become what you don't want? Would your priorities be skewed? Would you wage war on your own heart? Would you be cruel? Would you be false? Would you commodify your charm? Would you abuse your earthly form with things you know will do it harm? What if we have the mustard seed, the mountain top, the loaves and fish, And keep them jumbled in a drawer between dead batteries and old keys?
