Speaking to the Stone
A Poem by
Thom
I speak to the stone And it does call back It does tell me Tells me tales and stories The stories the stone tells They are stories of his sadness Because this stone is alone Alone and overlooked by all And so I stand here Speaking to the stone Because in truth I am the stone

. ah, profound ... reminds me of the excellence of the simon and garfunkel classic "i am a rock" ...
a talking stone
a walking stone
a pelting stone
a melting stone
and yet a stone
a stand alone
waiting for a new tide
a slide, a glide, a ride
but until then just some words
whispered gently to blue birds
. just inspired ... :) ...

the way you connect the personal to the inanimate~ animates the stone~ gives poignant relevance to the self reflection~
