Bargaining My Life

Bargaining My Life

A Poem by ~L.A.

I've shown my hand,
and my hand was a bust.
But cruel fate,
had the upper hand.
I bet my life,
thinking I could win,
now I'm pleading with fate,
to let me leave with my life.
But a bet's a bet,
and it looks like,
I'm not leaving here alive.
The stakes were rigged,
there's no way I could have possibly,
made a mistake this large.
I can't control the cards,
that fate holds in its hands.
I can't control the cards,
in my hands either.
For the cards in my hand,
were placed there,
by the cruelest fate ever imaginable.
I gambled my life.
That was the night,
that my life was on the line.
And I lost,
so now I'm at,
every beck and call of fate's
cruel desires.
