If you want?

If you want?

A Poem by Alexander Fox
"

I want to be a poet, but I don't want to claim my poetry. I want everyone to hold it, see it, dream it, think it. It is not mine to own. It is my gift, or curse, to you, and you, and you, and all the rest as well.

"
I sat here staring.
Grasping for the words, the thought, the mindset, the muse.
I searched for the way to tell you.
Tell you what you are.
You sat there staring.
Rifling through my eyes for me, my heart, my dreams, my future.
You searched for the movement.
The movement to show me who I am.
We strive together.
Dreaming through what we know, what we feel, what we want, what we need.
We search for our future.
Our future of love and happiness forever.
Forever will be too short a time to share our happiness, our sorrow, our bodies, our lives.
If you want?

Author's Note

Alexander Fox
Not my usual concept or execution. I prefer rhyme, rhythm, the things that make a poet a poet against all other writers. I consider this poetry, but not of a poets standards. This is a note to my love, to let her see that I think of her. Nothing more.

Reviews

I remember now why I wasn't able to review this before. It's because I had trouble looking at it as just words, just a poem.
So I'm afraid the only feedback I can give is that the format is interesting. It's cool how you made it all backwards.

What a great introduction to your poetry
But poetry does not always have to be
about rhyme, and rhythm its also
about being creative and unique.
Thats what this piece was about uniquness
Even if you said your poem was a note
to me it was just that "poetry"
Thanks for sharing
and keep on creating

Best wishes
