The gal

The gal

A Poem by Alexander Fox
"

I'm not good at this writing business

"

What to write, were to begin?
I'm fretting outright but singing within.

It's like resuming to breath,
waking from sleep,
but I fear its a secret that I must keep

My words don't come easy
they fight in my head
but you made me happy
when I should be dread

that's not why your mine though,
its not why your special

Your special for your mind
your spirit, your cool,
your mine because with you I'm never a fool

Your body is perfect, healthy and thin
and yet I adore more the you thats within

your smile is warm, and quite rarely shy,
and yet your still quick, and witty, and wry

I know what your thinking, you know my dreams,
we seem to consider the same twisted schemes

childhood friends, never been more,
and yet we know not what lies in store,

I'm sure your now thinking "James is so sly,
telling me things that I can't deny"

You could if you wished, though I doubt you will,
(I wish I could type this until I grow shrill)

The end of this piece is sudden for sure,
keep dreaming away dear, I'll see you once more.

I'd have to say that the only thing you aren't good at is your spelling. The poem is beautiful! The best part is "Your body is perfect, healthy and thin
and yet I adore more the you thats within"
