Tells the most depressing part of the life of male protagonist and how the main leads met.

A boy named Lee- kyon lived in Nampo'en a city in North Korea, a life he didn't want to live so he escaped North Korea at the age of 18 with the help of his father who unfortunately lost his life helping his son escape he couldn't just leave his dad like that because he lost his mother when he was 5. But he had to live him dying too he lost both of his parents he felt like dying at that moment, but he knew he had to become someone who would be worthy of to die for, he didn't want to let his dad's death be in vain so he had to leave his father right there.

He reached South Korea he was devastated moreover he didn't have money or anything on him, but then he met a girl who was smiling so brightly she gave him some money, food, clothes etc she didn't even wait for him to say thankyou, she just smiled at him and left. That at least gave him some courage, later on he kept thinking about how she smiled, that gave him hope some how.
