MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER

MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER

Have you ever tried to be a
'matchmaker' and failed?
This is a tongue-in-cheek
commentary on all of us
amatuer matchmakers who
just can't seem to quit trying.

I’m turning in my keys,
I’m closing all the doors,
this woman isn’t going to be
a matchmaker any more.

So don’t ask my advice,
on who your match should be,
I’ve taken down my sign
the future I can’t see.

[sob, sob]
I’m feeling kind of sad
‘cause I really thought I knew,
just what the choice should be,
and who should be with who.

But wait, what did you say?
I should give it one more try?
ALRIGHT I’m putting back the sign
the limit is THE SKY!!

Very funny. I could not help thinking of Shel Silverstein as I was reading it. Perhaps it was the meter and rhyme that reminded me of his style. Very clever. I can read why you have successfully published. You are very good. I look forward to reading more.
