I TURN TO YOU

I TURN TO YOU

A Poem by forrestcook
"

Grieving and Loss

"

I turned to tell you a story today
I knew it would make you smile,
but as I turned I remembered,
you’d already walked your last mile.

I still can’t believe you are gone,
I feel you in every place,
and oft when I turn quickly,
I know I can still see your face.

I pick the phone up just not thinking,
I wanted to share all my love.
Again I have to remember,
you are now in the heaven above.

So here I stand watching the sunset,
wishing you here by my side,
knowing sometimes I can feel you
as I wipe the tears from my eyes.

Please know I always will love you,
time cannot take you away,
I will hold you close to my heart,
we will be together someday.
