The TruthA Poem by audrie
I have exposed to you only
fragments of the truth
for fear of rejection I've been telling you lies from our very conception I've had to keep track of these lies that I've told Did't want to slip up Don't want to let them unfold Don't want to get tripped up from these lies that I've spun but those words that I've said just rolled off my tongue I've held onto these secrets kept them locked up inside I must let them out Must swallow my pride I'm afraid that you'll leave me once that you know I'm afraid that in the future you'll no longer believe me I'm afraid that you'll decide to just get up and go I'm desperately wanting to bring about change All of my words I wish I could exchange I'm fully aware that I'm deceiving you How I long to be able to tell you the truth So now it's time for me to ask for forgiveness I beg you to stay while I attempt to clean all my messes But if you should leave I'll quite understand why I just can't continue to live with these lies © 2014 audrieFeatured Review
