The empty waves~ 

that hollow stare

these deep black caves

go if you dare

and I'm

waiting~

wanting~

needing~

haunting~

You

and making mistakes that are hard to correct 

and correcting the past

as I sit and reflect~

and I wonder if it's too late

to find what was lost

is this my fate

how much did it cost

I particularly liked the word play with: waiting~
wanting~
needing~
haunting~

which to me, can be seen as all just smaller forms of one bigger & more intangible experience we stand confounded by in the wake of loves passing, i'm not quite sure how death could ever be as painful as the hopeless romantic... I for one, like you it seems, tend to love all the wrong people.

It is necessary to remain in hopes light. I know that it's possible to have everlasting love, but I just don't know if I can have everlasting commitment. This is a scary realization for me. I have to remember that relationships can't always be fairytale perfect and once I can embrace this belief then I think I'll be on my way to an everlasting relationship. When love is lost it can often leave a black hole within you. . .for the longest time I would fill my black holes with another relationship. But I finally stopped looking outside of myself to fill those holes and turned my attention inward. I have not had a relationship for many years as a result of this, but at least I'm not going through the motions just to say that I have someone. . .thanks for the review Michael
