Ringing

Ringing

A Poem by audrie

Blending memories in stagnant air
makes it hard to breathe
Disappearing without a trace
not a drop left
dry
desolate
empty
vacant
labeled - named - titled - tainted
Identified by mysterious unknown upbringings
noticed only by the ears left ringing

This is so deep. The whole fading into nothingness thing can be sort of terrifying, but leaving something behind that will actually last can be so hard, especially since you're not around to see how the world changes. I love how you dealt with this subject, well done.

well done...and yes, we do just disappear sooner or later...for poets, we hope our work will remain behind us to give some credence to our existence.

People really do fade into the "nothing" - as if they never were. And we let them... sigh
