Pretending

Pretending

A Poem by MARZ

You think, "He's pretending to be

homeless.

Anyone can get

clothes like that and

shatter their own fingernails and sit out on a

sidewalk

and make money.

Anyone can make an

igloo out of  snow and sleep in a parking lot.

He's pretending to be  homeless.

He's pretending to not have work

just as I'm pretending to not have

change."

No s**t. I try not to make a habit of hate, but I detest these social cretins. They act as though the homeless are a side show for their amusement. Like what you see? Throw 'em a quarter. If not, walk on by. In what level of Hell, I wonder, will they inevitably reside? I'm hoping that it's next to a dumpster, on a dark and dangerous street.
