Monday Morning

Monday Morning

A Poem by MARZ
"

Finances for the Week

"

Ten dollars to last you

all week

luckily you know a guy handing out free

t-shirts and Pepsi

Know all the free sample hot-spots

by NYU and

Columbia

you’re still young enough to pass as a

college student

you’ll get some food for free

Ten dollars to last you

all week

free as a bird using the

public libraries to

type up your poems.

the one near Union Square has no

Internet today

so you’ll walk uptown reciting this

poem in your mind

so you don’t

forget.

African drums playing in your chest

you don’t need an

iPod or

Zune or

Bose headphones

African drums playing in your chest

walking uptown for some free

t-shirts and Pepsi because these

ten dollars have to last you

all week.

We never tire of hearing this, so I'll say what I'm sure you've heard a thousand times before: Quite simply, your words rock! The only other words that come to my mind are More, More, More!

I liked this. And it is amazing how resourceful you can be when you really have to.
