The Cycle

The Cycle

A Poem by Alana Michele

I can't break out

reeling, circling

pushing away and calling back

I can't break the chain

the ties

running circles

I am pulled into a tide of rage

the rhythem

the pain

twisting around my thoughts

I can't break away

the cycle never stops

I know whats coming

I'm breaking

Riveting write!-- really feeling the anger here-- okay, just hold my breath now-- stop and count to ten.
Like the opening line "I can't break out" then the final line "I'm breaking"-- that's really clever.

This is certainly a case of being in the Mental Blender room. I have had these moments before. I find the only cure is adding Oranges to the mix and a drip or two of lime juice. Once the mind is pureed into a fine mixture, pour it into a new mold and let it bake under a winter moon's light. By morning I'm sure you'll have found that the blender was just a dream, or at least be able to laugh at it. :)

Great Flowing Ink!
