Within the World

Within the World

A Poem by Alana Michele

this always changing pattern

seared across their minds

kaleidoscope colors

shifting to black and white

stained red

balanced on the last straw

a breathe thin hair

tossed to the breeze

a careless cry

lost…again

the wandering of this path

your footsteps imprint

forever in the years

these lands will know

mythical beasts

in their glory return

once again

claiming their stake

these men have stolen

with blood stained grasps

loosen the sword

when dragons scream

the siren’s call

the horn will sound

and the bell will toll
