Your Own Fear

Your Own Fear

A Poem by Alana Michele

Fears ripples down the icicles

in you head

Truth echoes in the empty space

 your heart

Clutching onto hope

Doesn’t change what was

Or  what will be

Forward

“farther up, further in”

The Void grows

Tension strikes

Lightning in the sky

Trust shatters

Betrayal razes your skin

Dents and bruises

Outside

Hollow and numb

Inside

You can’t change it.

hope lingers in the spider’s web

the dust with no place to hold

blow it away

a breath

time equalizes nothing

I'm digging it. It's really hard to find good free verse.
