Life As We Know ItA Poem by ChantelWritten Summer of 2013 and fall 2013.My life stretches before me And I hate what I see A pointless, mundane existence A harsh reality
Depressed about the time I'm wasting, I just let it pass by Well, life's too short and that makes it too long, We're just waiting here to die
Oh, take me away, take me away. Oh, take me away, take me away...
(music)
You spend your childhood dreaming Of what you'll be when you grow up; You spend adulthood wasting time Until you realize that you're stuck.
You get a job, you have some kids And your life's no longer yours You spend the next fifty years paying rent And doing household chores.
Oh, take me away, take me away. Oh, take me away...
This is life as we know it. This is all there is. Oh, silly girl, why aren't you happy? Why aren't you content? You should be honored To be a part of this. This is all there is...
Oh, take me away... Oh, take me away...
Oh, take me away, take me away... (This is life as we know it.) Oh, take me away, take me away... (This is all there is.) Oh, take me away, take me away... (This is life as we know it.) You should be honored to be a part of this. © 2014 ChantelAuthor's Note
