Lovely Forever

Lovely Forever

A Poem by Hope
"

A poem I wrote about seeing my friend's older sister, who died recently from drug abuse, in her casket. Stay above the influence, kids. Love you B<3

"
A pearl necklace draped across
The small girl's breaking heart.
Tousled locks and painted eyes
Left behind for the fake smiles of demise.
Sparkling green is now paling, thinned,
Gone forever is the beauty within.
A small smudge on the record,
Turned into an overwhelming stain,
And we pleaded with the savior,
Again and again, in vain,
"Saint Christopher, save her,"
But she was too far gone.
So help the poor girl's soul
Bring back the shivering, shriveling warmth,
No, she's young, lovely forever.

Reading these beautiful words gave my heart warming chills, you had a story like flow throughout the poetry. Honestly i cannot even criticize this cause its such a beautiful tribute of deep emotion. Wonderful, i especially loved the line "A small smudge on the record"....simple but so deeply innovative.

Wonderfully written..
"Bring back the shivering, shriveling warmth,
No, she's young, lovely forever."
What a perfect way to end this.
This gave me goosebumps; what a sad story :(
And what a beautiful writer.

She thought she was immortal. So very sad. But very well written.

this is stunning. before i read the description i was going to say if this were a person i'd like to take it out for dinner, and i'm not sure if it would because it's beautiful or if i fee it deserved it. so sorry to hear about your friends sister, drugs are the hardest on the ones closest to the user. keep writing, this is beautiful.
