The Only One

The Only One

A Poem by LeeAnne

How should I put this?

How should these words come out?

Am I really not everything

I thought I was about?

Is there anything more

That I should know

Is there anywhere else

I have to go?

Everyone changed

Everyone but me

They're so ignorant now

But they can't see

They can ignore me

I really don't care

I will ignore them, too

Fair is only fair

They can leave me out

Standing in the rain

I'll just make sure

They feel worse pain

They've forgotten about me

So I'll forget about them

But just so you know

I will not condemn

But am I

The only one

Who will feel better

In the long run?

I'll be the bigger person here

So leave again like you did before

I won't be the one to

Send out a warning of war

There's a reason you're not here

You're not supposed to be

So I'll take this argument

To a tolerable degree

Just leave me a lone

No need for a fight

So go ahead and strike your pose

And I'll just walk away

Since I'm the only one

Who cares about this

So I guess this was

Another wish gone amiss
