That Girl

That Girl

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

She's alive but she's scarred

Since you caught her way off guard

Her mistakes are shown in her face

As she's falling from her grace

Shot in the head, her wake up call

She wasn't ready to lose it all

The death of her memory

Left her here so hopelessly

Her rugged smile is so fake

But it's all that she can make

Her broken heart will never beat

As she throws it on the street

And as her cards never match

She'll drive until she is the crash

That same old song makes her cry

Why he sings those words, she asks why

His lonely words of inspiration

Feel like an intimidation

And when she gave it all she had

She was found with a damaged back

But she won't confess who made her hurt

It would only make things worse

Now over time no one knows

Who she was with all the lows

But if you look this way you will see

That that girl was only me
