Weep for the EarthA Story by Hedyeh Grjust some thoughts on what's really going on outside of my bubble.
This planet has been around for approximately 4.5 billion years. The natural process of things evolved it and shaped it up until about 200,000 years ago. Then evolution led to the beginning of the slow process that would eventually end up as the Homo Sapien or "humans" as we unjustifiably call ourselves today. At this time our species began to also have a hand in how the world changed. At first it was just the basic natural instincts of survival that kicked in. We killed but only animals below us on the food chain. Based on science we know that at this time excessive killing wasn't even a well formed thought. We only took from the Earth what we needed. Slowly but surely though we continued to evolve in to more "intelligent" beings. During the Upper Paleolithic period (approx. 50,000) years ago our species began to scratch the surface of spiritualism and cult behavior. Notice that the two went hand in hand during that era. It would take another 39,000 years (Neolithic period) for that "awareness" to begin to turn in to solid beliefs and ideologies that would later lead to the division and separation of our ancestors. This systematic change of thinking continued until approximately 6,000 years ago when modern society as we know it first begun. This is when it all really started. The hate, the discrimination, the separation. The sick mentality that any one culture or belief system was better than the rest. It is at this time that the Earth began it's slow and aggravating descent in to nothingness. We did this. We destroyed the world. Yes at times there are glimpses of hope for humanity but mostly we are plagued by pain and death and massacre of those who are "different" from others. We have become so ensconced in our own little bubbles of beliefs, ideologies, lies, and bedtime stories that we have forgotten what it truly means to be human. We have forgotten how to love this planet and everything that breathes in it. We have forgotten how to take care of something that has taken care of us and our very first ancestors for the past 2.7 billion years. We have forgotten the word NEED and replaced it with our own so call "synonyms" of WANT, GREED, and POWER. We have torn families and loved ones apart just so we can say that a creator we have never actually seen physical evidence of is better than every other being on this Earth. But what hurts the most, what causes the most anguish and outrage is that these acts of terror, of horror, of pure disgusting selfishness and hate are sometimes legitimized in our mind as what needed to be done or what was a deserving effect to some cause. Or that these acts of atrocities are part of the bigger picture or the so called "Plan" for the world. This thinking, this illness within ourselves has justified all the destruction whether we choose to admit or not. Wake up Homo Sapiens and weep at what we have become as a whole. Weep for every mother that was no longer able to hold her child because of the color of her skin. Weep for the lover that lost his or her true love because of what they chose to believe in. Weep for the child that grew up confused and without a proper home because they were torn apart from all that they knew for speaking a different language. But mostly weep for this planet that has had to bear so much pain and is only still trying its very best to continue to give and protect but all in vain. 4.5 billion years ago the ground beneath our feet was naturally shifting and evolving for the better until we decided that, that was not enough and decided to kill and maim and torture and burn for our own selfish gains and for the love of something we cannot even tangibly grasp. We did this. All of us. None of us will get away scot-free and when this poor, poor ball of nickel, iron, rock, oxygen, and other minerals decides that it has finally had enough we will pay for all that we have done. So tonight when you the privileged few lay your heads down on your down filled or ergonomic pillows think of all of those who are laying there heads down on rocks, debris, blood of their loved ones or their graves and remember who did all of this. Maybe then and only then when it has all seeped in deep to our very core; when we have finally seen the actual Truth of all that was and has become...maybe then there will finally be some hope for the return of our long lost humanity.
