taste, sip, gulp

taste, sip, gulp

A Poem by Cardinal Robin

taste, sip, gulp

where a taste

is akin to a sip

when sipping is apropos

you are more than wants the eyes

wide open

I take pleasure

in the shared warmth

reflected from you to me to you

the glow of you

is like the day’s first sun

kissing pink sand

and this morning

you look “more”

like a familiar song

once heard in a dream

the sound of your breath

makes the center of me with ease

I tremble slightly with joy

at the silent, sticky smack

your lips make as they part

for I am already lost in them

how can I not

gulp at the sight of this

buried treasure unearthed

before I wipe the sleep from my eyes

you love me

and I you

and this simple moment

has found me again

in the awe of together

This is gorgeous. I love the serene, transient moment you've created. In those moments, even one's morning breath just seems utterly enchanting, doesn't it? heehee. But seriously, what you've done is capture lovers waking and remembering why they love to begin with. It's simply put but ever so beautiful. Bravo, RobiN!

Such a tenderly moving piece, full of perfection. Lines that layer like delicate sheets, lifting one to a place of subtle joy. Your expression is deeply emotive, and moves like a song...

Gently written, love slowly tasted, sip then gulped. Expressed carefully and full of soft emotions. A creative write.

You are such a versatile writer. You are the master of the page and you completely control writing. What thought transports itself to the sheet is delicately refined and pressed forth or withheld...at your command. I salute you.

Very nice write Robin. I have to say this is probably one of my favorites of yours, which is strange for me. I usually lean towards the darker things, which you probably know by now. It is nice to get a fresh breath of air once in a while though and this certainly was. Such beauty in these words. Good job Robin.

It is amazing how one good writer Seriana can lead you to another. I enjoy her work and I know why she has you as a friend. You guys are both talented. I plan on reading some more material from you. This poem is right up my alley. I love writing about love and loving moments and loving desires. I consider this professional. My stuff probably semi-pro. -smile- If you get a chance check out a couple of pieces similar to this fantastic piece you have penned. "How Have You Become" and "I can't believe". Off to another one of your writes.

Robin, Robin, Robin.....I'm pleasantly surprised by this. It's a very controlled write for you, yet at the same time, it is so subtly powerful, it's like a punch to the gut. The whole last stanza did it for me. And I smiled. :) Lovely, Robin. Thank you for sharing.
