Mary Watches Over Me

Mary Watches Over Me

A Poem by Cardinal Robin

Mary Watches Over Me

Sometimes over my right shoulder

when this tired world can be a little colder

and I’m afraid to admit that I’m scared

doubtful I’ve tried I’m just a happy go lucky guy,

but barely alive.

There’s a place I came to see

my soul ascended and a Special Message Red

“You’ve slept Wee long enough Sir,

Here’s your final wake up call…BEEP!

It was Mary watching over me

Mary, Mary can I call to you

Will my sadness fall into the Blue

Will the Void have a loveseat built for Two

In faith my Mary watches over me…

Even when I was a boy

I was never all alone

although I spent much time with just

myself and a toy

Mary would always warm my home

And though the memories are dusty Now

of a When imagination came to Rule the Free

I can be in any sincere place and time

and know that Mary’s watching over me…

Mary, Mary can I call to you

Will my sadness fall into the Blue

Will the Void have a loveseat built for Two

In faith my Mary watches over me…

And YOU

And God sets us ALL FREE….

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised! It is amazing how many men find comfort in Mary's care and yes God does set us free, but it is up to us to "shed our skin and let him in" Quote from a song my son wrote.
Your line and poetic form is good as are your grammar skills...this was a beautiful read...
Cheers,

This was a delightful approach to Mary really... Parts where you suggest that Mary was with you all along makes the reader feel as if Mary's eyes are on them as they read through this. Well said!

this was sweet, robin. the emphasis in this poem is in the embracing the past... this was pretty in its wholeness and i also liked the xpression of "Will the Void have a loveseat built for Two

In faith my Mary watches over me". well done.
